May Issue

May Fly-ins
Buster & Diane McCurdy held their first fly-in on Saturday, May 12th. About a dozen planes and ultralights flew into the grass strip near High Point and several EAA members camped near the lake that runs parallel to the runway. Competition flying on Friday was cancelled due to the unruly weather, but a Seabreeze from Michigan did land on the lake Friday evening. Saturday Wayne Goza fixed his famous catfish lunch, and Diane McCurdy made some delicious ice cream. Quote of the day by Dr. John: "My gastronomic proclivity was most adequately satiated."

The EAA 890 monthly meeting was short and sweet with the only order of business being a declaration of John & Pat Shippey Day. John was honored as a charter member of the chapter and a tireless promoter of the Young Eagles program. To view photos of Fly-in >>

User Fees
The FAA proposals regarding user fees and their new funding plan was discussed. This is a proposal that all general aviation pilots should be concerned about. Please take the time to contact your Congressional delegation about this issue. To learn more >>

Current FAA funding expires in September. It is important that we make our voices heard on this issue.

2007 Calendar
