Short Notes from 4/14/2007

May Fly-ins
Buster McCurdy will have a fly-in on the second Saturday of May (May 12th). Wayne Goza will be cooking his famous fish for lunch. Camping sites are available. The May meeting for EAA 890 will be at Buster’s. On Friday (May 11th) there will be a aviation contests, followed by a bon fire and hot dog roast. Saturday will be the EAA meeting and catfish lunch. Please bring a dessert to share.

There will be no fly-in at Myer's Flying M in May. The next fly-in lunch will be June 2nd.

CPR
Dr. John Isbell has been looking into a CPR course for EAA members. There are EMTs available that would put on a course at our request. Cost is unknown.

Young Eagles
DeKalb County Tourism office put our last Young Eagles information on their display board outside the Tourism office. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and no Young Eagles were flown this month.

User Fees
The FAA proposals regarding user fees and their new funding plan was discussed. This is a proposal that all general aviation pilots should be concerned about. Please take the time to contact your Congressional delegation about this issue. To learn more >>

Current FAA funding expires in September. It is important that we make our voices heard on this issue.

2007 Calendar
The 2007 EAA 890 calendars are still available at the Fort Payne FBO for $10 each.
